People always want to go out, be under the sunshine, be with friends, constantly seeking for new places. But, other times, we just want to stay at home and realize that it’s actually better (sometimes). Why can’t society be more acceptable of making our home our haven? After all, it’s where we grew up and develop ourselves to be who we are now.

Why does it seem to be so boring for a lot of people to stay in than going out?

Staying in for a few individuals is quite extraordinary. Busy schedules, tough deadlines, and crazy activities outside just want to make you feel more secure and relaxed at home.

I know a lot of millennials are into so much traveling and yes – it is entirely fun and adventurous! But hey – staying at home is also goooood.

Here are 7 great reasons why sometimes it does make a lot of sense staying at home:

1. We can wear whatever we want – or wear bare clothes (if that’s your trip)

We don’t have to look for outfits and use the time to see what fits or what not.

We can just have our short shorts or loose skirts to be more comfortable without anyone judging. Or wear bare clothes – I mean who’s watching anyway? 🙂

2.  We can surely save cash!

Frankly speaking, nothing comes free when we decide to go out. Talk about transportation that will cause you money for fare or even gasoline if you have a private vehicle or bike.

Even when you choose to just go window shopping, eventually, you and your friends will end up in a nice coffee shop or a nearby restaurant to have a good meal and a good time.

In contrast, staying at home can help save cash. You can either have a movie marathon or a chit-chat with friends with a couple of yummy finger foods and cheap beers. LOL! But this is actually great to have a deeper connection with friends at home, privately catching up.

3.  We have better peace of mind

When we step out of the door, we expect to be surrounded by noise, traffic, strangers that don’t actually contribute much to our lives. When this happens, all of a sudden, we are trapped in the world full of chaos and brings down our inner peace. One thing that could bring about additional stress in our daily lives as well.

It’s our haven. It’s where we do whatever we want and mostly feel comfortable at it.

4. We can dance or sing without anyone seeing us

Yes! No audience. No judge. Just us and our weird dance steps and crashing voice nobody wants to hear. HAHA! But who cares right? It’s our home. Seriously, we can do many crazy things as much as we want.

5. That “What do you want to do” line you want to avoid with a friend that will last for minutes and hours even.

We always have this right? Every day, if not when we go out with friends. Often undecided where to go and that would definitely waste our time. Why can’t we stay at home and done. We’re set!

6. Unlimited left-over snacks

Leftover pasta and pizza stored in the fridge are just lifesavers! For me, I always go hungry, so steps away from food is heaven! AND if friends come over, we just have to buy additional boxes of pizza, and that’s it. Making the most of our time with left-over snacks 🙂

7. No rubbish conversations

Just PURE MEANINGFUL, and FUN convo with best of friends and not with people who we really have to have a convo with.

So these are the 7 reasons why staying at home is better than going out. In short, for a lot of us, Home is when we can still be ugly and still feel comfortable :))

How about you? Do you have your own reasons why you love to stay at home sometimes?

I love staying home! Sometimes a little too much. Then that’s when I have to push myself out 😉 A little of both is good!

I can so relate to this post. Reasons numbers 1-3 are my reasons as well, especially number 2. During my first few months of work I was always fond of going out, however this time around, I realize how much money I spent every time I go out. That’s why I love staying at home these days: para makapag-relax, to have peace of mind, and to save financially! Lol 🙂

I prefer staying home since I consider it as “me time”. Actually, I can do a lot more things at home than when I’m at work. Maybe that’s because I enjoy what I’m doing at home. Haha. I always wish to have a 3-day weekend instead of 2!

But lately, I just like to stay home so I can play Sims. I’ve been really hooked since 2 weeks ago. Haha.

I am much more of a home person. If my friends ask me out, I always tell them to come by na lang and I’ll feed them. lol

But on #4 though, I don’t live alone so I still have judges. My parents and brother always tease me when I sing my heart out. Hahaha! But most of these points, I can totally relate to!!

I love staying in! Do you know how much I binge watch Korean dramas in my pj’s? Like 70% of my life. Ok that seems really sad. Maybe not that much. But after work, I love having a friend over, where we can cook dinner together, and settle on the couch with a good flick. It’s so relaxing yet so exciting at the same time–which is why I love night ins!

You remind me of my sister. She would glue her eyes on the laptop for those Korean dramas and she’d prefer to stay home because of it. HAHA! she could save money. Yes, I love those simple activities that are more meaningful. 🙂

I like staying at home as much as I love travelling. Oftentimes, after I do a major trip, I spent week holed up in my room. Yes, it mostly helps save money, but it also gives me a sense of peace and quiet. And I don’t have to wear a bra all the freaking time!! Hahaha.
